My name is Diego Manrique and Im a student in my first year at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. Im currently studying Family, Youth, and Community Sciences and hope to transfer to the University of Florida in 2017. Ever since I was a child I have dreamt of working in a field where I have the opportunity to use my vocation to help others. In 2014 I went to Haiti for the first time to volunteer with an organization called Mission of Hope, and that trip has driven me to pursue an education that will equip me with the skills necessary to work in organizations just like the one I volunteered with. I also plan on pursuing a Masters of Divinity after graduating from my undergraduate degree.
When Im not in class or studying I can usually be found at a coffee shop, playing guitar, or at a soccer field. I also love to read, listen to podcasts, watch sports, and explore new places. This website serves as a glimpse into my college experience here at Santa Fe, feel free to look through it!
